'Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains:' more casting snubs and analysis
February 8th, 2010 | posted by conrad walton |
When asked at the 10th anniversary party why Johnny Fairplay wasn’t invited back Jeff Probst said point blank “It’s called Survivor Heroes and Villains, not Survivor Quitters.”
Jonny Fairplay: Fairplay was not asked. I Repeat: Fairplay was not asked.
Colleen Haskell: Finally, someone new! Jeff admitted that Colleen from the first season would have been on the show if she was interested, but quite frankly she wasn’t interested.
Ozzy Lusth: People generally either love or hate Ozzy; for Jeff, he said that people had probably seen enough of the guy for now.
Terry Deitz: Jeff said that Terry was considered but it came down to spots. However, I can tell you that Terry was never actually asked. He told me that last September.
Brian Heidik: Brian probably is one of the most sure-fire villains “Survivor” has ever seen, but the problem is that everyone is “repulsed” by the “Thailand” winner too much to see him back.

I didn’t watch the last Survivor because I found Russell beyone repulsive so won’t be watching this one either – even though I love Rupert.

I skipped a few seasons of Survivor because I started to get bored with the show. I tried again on the first season that Ozzy was on and I’ve been a fan again ever since. Ozzy made it interesting again for me. I’m really disappointed that he wasn’t included in this show. I’m glad to see Russell & James on though. I can’t wait to see Coach voted off again – CAN’T STAND even looking at the guy – he make my skin crawl!

So in other words, some genuine heroes and villains were turned away for others whose designations have been justified in a rather shaky manner.
No matter, because this bunch isn’t going to be a high school glee club.

In the commericals for this, they showed Richard Hatch…..what happened to him, I was looking forward to see him and Russell battle it out!

I think Terry and Ozzie were both deserving of spots, and it takes away from the game not having them there. I know they want the eye candy, but there are several far less deserving, and for that matter memorable players on the cast.
This season will be great, but it could have been better.
